Pillow May specialise in accountancy and tax services for individuals and companies with turnovers up to £1 million in Chippenham, Calne, Swindon and surrounding areas . We group our business clients into sectors: owner-managed growing business, rural, contractors and professions, then we have our tailor made tax service for both individuals and businesses.
With a mix of personal tax and corporate clients from a large variety of different disciplines, we offer business experience and advice in many different contexts. We are general practitioners and refer to a network of trusted specialists when necessary to give the full range of skills otherwise only available in a larger practice. Our clients have the benefit of advice from a small friendly team they can get to know and who know them, without sacrificing the level of knowledge and expertise available.
We are pioneers in new accounting technology; we have worked with cloud accounting software almost since its inception and are partners with FreeAgent; Xero and Receipt Bank (which offer receipt processing which we think will replace book-keeping in the future).
Pillow May aim to help everyone in business. We are part of B1G1 – Buy one Give one, a global giving initiative where we ‘give back’ to international projects for every set of accounts, tax return or client feedback form submitted, alternating our giving with donations to local charities recommended to us by our clients. You can see our ‘Giving Impact’ below.
Our history and core values
Established in 2009, Pillow May’s core values stem from director Jessica Pillow’s desire to set up an accountancy practice that demonstrates how women can balance their careers with their family life and where staff can break free from traditional accountancy stereotypes. The team think PINK – a motto which sums up our core internal values of offering a Personal service, whilst Inspiring and Nurturing businesses and offering Kinship to all our clients and suppliers.
Nestled deep in rural Wiltshire, the office is always a hive of activity. Pillow May is still owned and managed by Jessica who shares with you the challenges of running a small business, and now also employs a team of six professionals offering friendly expert accountancy and tax advice. Our clients are always welcome to drop by for a cup of tea!
Pillow May’s rural roots are not only incorporated in our branding but in the way we work – we operate from a paperless office which is as energy efficient and environmentally friendly as possible, from solar panels down to composting our tea bags
